  ››   Aim of the website

  • An interdisciplinary team of people representing their different constituencies across the region has been the major strength of this site. At the mean time we aim to bridge the gap between the policy and the grassroots. We in fact want to inform the policy from the concerns of the margin. We want margin to have its say and to influence the policy at all levels. We try to create dynamic and political space for the organic knowledge system that is with the margin. Thus we name this initiative as the Subaltern Knowledge Initiative. We promote our community leaders, change makers to send their experiences so that people working on policy and the government could follow them.

  • We are trying to develop this site as the information hub in different socio-political issues that matters in the daily lives of the people. With different socio-political and development issues, HIV&AIDS is one of the major focuses of this site.

  • We welcome reports, comments, write ups, and papers that help people to generate new ideas. We provide space to different organizations to place their reports; however our emphasis is to provide space to grassroots level organizations which are working at the community levels. Those organizations which can't produce their reports, case studies, achievements in English, can provide their reports to the national APACHA Secretariats in each country and the gist of the reports will be translated and will be posted in this website. The editorial team has rights to select such reports, case studies and fact findings.

  • We will engage people from different walks of life in the process of debates and discourse. We strongly acknowledge that in every individual there a unique quality thus we encourage our users to actively participate in the discussions forums. However we strongly discourage individual bias and individual anger, since this is the public forum. We promote individual integrity and individual dignity.

  • For those organizations which are working at the community level and which have problems in accessing email and internet, we try to encourage our national chapters and other organizations to translate essential materials and disseminate them, so that this initiative reaches to the marginalized section.

  • Materials produced in this website can be cited, translated and distributed only for the public propose.
