APACHA action plan for GAWA
Global AIDS Week of Action 18-24 May, 2008

The Global AIDS Week of Action (GAWA) is an option to demand a stronger response, greater accountability and more resources in the fight against HIV&AIDS. We can rise together with other organisations / networks and collectively generate political pressure and demand action from the leaders. There are common concerns which through out the country can all unite around. These are access to treatment of HIV positive people, end violence against women, transparency and accountability of CCM Bangladesh, proper funding for HIV and AIDS.

Also we would like to tell people that our activities are part of a global mobilisation for the Global AIDS Week of Action.

Objectives:
  • Generate a larger critical mass and a louder voice

  • Increase country wide unity and solidarity

  • Generate more national pressure and political influence

  • Strengthen national HIV & AIDS campaigns and action

  • Help different countries focus on similar goals

  • Improve communication and let each country know what other countries are doing

  • Help bring international G8 leaders to account in funding the fight against HIV&AIDS

  • Let know people we are part of a global mobilisation for the Global AIDS Week of Action.
