Orientation Program 16 th May:

An orientation program on UNGASS has been organized on 16 May at Biratnagar Sub-Municipality Corporation. (BSMC) Fifty participants from civil society/Go/NGO attended the program. Coordinator of District Development Committee HIV & AIDS unit had presented a paper on UNGASS. The participants were taught about the history, content, and present on going movement on UNGASS through GAWA. The program was chaired by the Chief of the social department of MSMC. The program was organized two days earlier so that the participants can organize the same orientation to their staff.

Koshi Manthan (regular F.M. Radio program on contemporary issue)

An hour talk program on UNGASS has been broadcasted by Koshi F.M. through it's regular program "Koshi Manthan" on 17 th May at 7 am to 8 am. DDC Morang AIDS unit Coordinator, Koshi Zonal Hospital representative , Navakiran plus coordinator, CBR program officer and ABC Nepal chief participated on talk. 11 commitments of the UNGASS were the subject of the discussion. The chief concern of the participant over it was whether the commitment fulfilled or not? It will be assumed that thousand of people of Eastern region acknowledged about UNGASS and the week long program of GAWA through the program.

Press meets.

A press meet was organized on 18th May at Office of District association of Reporter to circulate program activity of GAWA and to motivate them on UNGASS. The program was attended by all the reporter of the media houses that are operating in the district. At that occasion many question on UNGASS and present condition of HIV and AIDS in district /nation had raised and answered.

Street Drama

A street drama was staged at Jana Andolan Chowck before the Candle Light Memorial on 18 th may at 5.30 pm. The drama was supported by Blue Diamond Society, Biratnagar in which all the character were cast by themselves. At the end of the Play the organizer disseminate pamphlet on UNGASS and urge public to take active participation against the HIV & AIDS. The drama was observed by more than 300 men and women.

Candle Light Memorial

Candle were lighted on 18 th May at 6.30 pm at Jana Andlon Chock at 6.45 pm and the participant observed 1 min silence for them who passed away due to HIV & AIDS. The program was organized by Recovering PLHA Grope and it was participated by more than 100 men and women.

Talk Program

A talk program was aired on 20 th May based on UNGASS at 7.30 to 8.00 pm by Koshi F.M. . The program was organized by Biratnagar Sub-metropolitan Corporation. Health department chief of BSMC, Counselor of DDC Morang and President of Recovering PLHA Group was the participant of the talk. The program emphasis was on the implementation of UNGASS commitment.
