Asia Knowledge Initiative
After initiating our ground work as a mass based network at the national and local levels in different Asian countries, now Asian People's Alliance for Combating HIV&AIDS (APACHA) has launched its website that aims to be the Knowledge hub (for rights and advocacy in people’s movements) in the Asia Region. We work with networks such as trade unions, PLHA, women's rights, Dalits rights, NGOs working on HIV&AIDS, NGO's on development issues, teachers unions, indigenous people, human rights, youth forums, lawyers, media and journalists, MSM, student unions, food rights and trade justice.
  • We request activists, academicians, politicians, trade union leaders, parliamentarians, women's rights activists, PLHA networks and activists, Sex workers' networks and activists, MSM, student leaders, Dalits rights networks and activists, medical professionals, lawyers, economic forums and analysts, trade justice networks and human rights activists to voluntarily contribute to enrich this Knowledge hub. We welcome news, articles, research findings, book reviews, news and stories of change that are based on evidence. Most often conventional reports do not bring the public concerns that matter in every day realities of common people. We thus encourage writers and contributors to bring those stories of people that are still under shadow.

  • HIV&AIDS will be the central focus; however we encourage interdisciplinary perspectives.

  • We aim to bridge the gap between policy and grassroots work. We want to inform policies from the concerns of the grassroots. We want grassroots and those in the margins to have their say and to influence policy at all levels. We try to create dynamic and political space for an organic knowledge system that is with the margin, grassroots and communities. Thus we have named this initiative as the Subaltern Knowledge Initiative. We encourage our community leaders, change makers to send their experiences and help governments, donors and civil society to open their eyes.

  • We welcome reports, comments, write ups, and papers that help people generate new ideas and alternatives.

  • We want to engage people from different walks of life to participate in debates and discussions.

  • Editorial team has all the rights to select and edit the articles, write-ups and such contributed to the site.
